Entry updated 29 May 2023. Tagged: Author.

(1960-    ) Irish author, principally of detective stories, whose first novel The Dark Fields (2001; vt Limitless 2011) explores illicitly enhanced Intelligence through Drugs in a crime/Technothriller idiom; the faithful film version Limitless (2011) directed by Neil Burger shares and magnifies its combination of strong psychological sequences with uncertain plotting. A further media spinoff was the CBS comedy-drama Television series Limitless (2015-2016), set four years after the events of the film and cancelled after one season of 22 episodes. [NL/DRL]
