(1965- ) French artist who works in large-scale installations, video and set design. Her multi-media piece TH.2058 (2008) was a site-specific installation for the huge Turbine Hall at London's Tate Modern, formerly a power station. It imagined the gallery 50 years into the Near Future, when London is largely underwater, and the space is used for the remnants of cultural effects rescued from the perpetual rain (see Climate Change), represented by replicas of well-known artworks and bunk beds covered in books. Video screens play clips from sf films, edited into a sequence known as The Last Film. [CWa]
