(? - ) Scottish author, mostly of fantasy, including the Rotstorm sequence beginning with The Gauntlet and the Fist Beneath (2021), set in a land whose violence – and large variety of agenda-bound creatures of various sorts – contrasts with some effectiveness to the central narrative line, in which a bereaved mother searches for her lost daughter. The spread of the rotstorm that gives the series its name is combatted by the increasingly enabled mother.
Green is of sf interest for Extremophile (2024), which is set in a Near Future Dystopian London at increasing risk both from Climate Change and from various grotesqueries inflicted upon the body politic by the obscenely rich. The protagonist, who specializes in gene-tweaked augments (see Genetic Engineering), may be given a chance to work some changes (see Cultural Engineering) when Green activists engage her and her partner in some hopefully disruptive jobs.
