(1933-1978) US author and psychologist whose first novel The Corruptors (1977) is a contemporary thriller whose protagonist – a student of Psychology – learns how to use Psi Powers of a sort for material advancement, only to find himself in conflict with Secret Masters wielding greater power even than US business, government or organized crime. His second and third novels, which followed in the same year, were Technothrillers written in collaboration with Robin Moore: The Death Disciple (1977) and The Last Coming (1977). Paranormal abilities and secret masters (here benign) also feature in the late thriller Of Good and Evil (2010), whose storyline includes Precognitive dreams and the threatened nuclear destruction of a US City.
