(? - ) UK author whose first novel, Tell Me an Ending (2022), is set in an Alternate History present day, a world increasingly concerned with the consequences of a policy of voluntary Memory Editing that seems to have kept the lid on the high anxieties of a culture much like ours, but – almost fatally – also entailed wiping any memory of having had one's Memory wiped. Several "victims" are focused upon, and their relationship with the Nepenthe institute in London, where the operations had been executed. A reversal of policy mandates informing those whose Identities have been curated; the tale unpacks at this point as a thriller. [JC]
