(? - ) US teacher and author who began to publish work of sf interest with The Neptune Project (2013; vt The Neptune Conspiracy 2014), a Young Adult tale whose female protagonist discovers that she and her contemporaries have been genetically engineered without their consent by a Dystopian government, enabling them to survive Under the Sea as Climate Change and Future War afflict the surface world; with the help of friendly Dolphins with whom Telepathic communication is possible, there is a mass escape towards the hoped safety of the undersea Neptune colony, with government agents in relentless pursuit. The Neptune Project sequence continues with The Neptune Challenge (2015) and The Neptune Promise (2017). Skyriders (2023) opens a Fantasy series for younger readers, whose initially twelve-year-old girl protagonist is telepathically bonded with her Pegasus-like winged horse (distantly echoing the dragon partnerships of Anne McCaffrey's Pern saga) and battles Monsters. The sequel is The Sky King (2024). [DRL]
