(? - ) US educator and author whose Kindom Trilogy beginning with These Burning Stars (2024) is an ambitiously orthodox Space Opera whose primary Planetary Romance venue, a world oppressed by its clergy (see Religion), is detailedly unpacked. Aristocracy is rife, with dynastic implications hinted at. A Power Source necessary for interstellar travel is under dispute. Issues of Identity tend to be resolved through same-sex outcomes, in a constantly developing set of interlocked stories, projected to be unpacked in future volumes. This novel won the Philip K Dick Award. In the first sequel, On Vicious Worlds (2024), the Jeveni culture, temporarily safe on a distant planet, finds itself inevitably reinserted into the turmoil and Realpolitik that is shattering the central system, where all significant power stems.
