Johnson, Jeremy Robert
Entry updated 24 March 2025. Tagged: Author.
(1977- ) US author mostly associated mostly with exorbitant tales of horror, who began to publish work of genre interest with "Amniotic Shock in the Last Sacred Place" in Pain & Other Petty Plots to Keep you in Stitches (anth 2003) edited by Alan M Clark. He is of sf interest for Extinction Journals (2006 chap), whose protagonist undertakes a Fantastic Voyage across a devastated Near-Future America; and for The Loop (2020), in which an experiment in Drug-induced Cultural Engineering drives the adolescents of a small city berserk. As usual with Johnson, the tale is designed to maximize the physicality of affect (see Horror in SF). [JC]
