(1945- ) Canadian author whose first works of genre interest were Technothrillers set in the Near Future, beginning with Rubicon One (1983), which involves a threatened nuclear World War Three, Barbarossa Red (1986), which focuses on the near-to-collapse Cold War, and Winter Palace (1988), whose protagonist thwarts the eponymous scheme against civilization. More recently, Jones has turned to fantasy, with the House of the Pandragore sequence [see Checklist for titles]. [JC]
