(1981- ) Canadian author whose first novel De Vengeance ["Of Vengeance"] (2017) is a nonfantastic thriller. Her second, the Near Future Aquariums (2019; trans Pablo Straus 2022), focuses on an expedition trapped in the Arctic – while studying Climate Change in that hugely vulnerable region of the planet – by a savage Pandemic. The psychic and physical Zone in which members of the expedition are trapped is delineated with considerable skill. [JC]
