(1965- ) US author whose Thomas's Sheep sequence, comprising Thomas's Sheep and the Great Geography Test (1998) and Thomas's Sheep and the Spectacular Science Project (2004), is Science Fantasy for younger readers; the Paradise sequence comprising This Side of Paradise (2005) and Paradise Lost (2010) is set in an ominous company town called Paradise. The Young Adult Mergers (2006) set in a racially uniform Dystopia from which four protagonists escape into the past (see Time Travel) in an attempt to block the eponymous event which had eliminated all differences.
