(1972- ) US author who began publishing work of genre interest with "Last Drink Bird Head" in Last Drink Bird Head: Flash Fiction for Charity (anth 2009) edited by Ann VanderMeer and Jeff VanderMeer. Much of her work has been fantasy, including two series, the Fey and the Fallen sequence beginning with Of Blood and Honey (2011), and the Malorum Gates sequence beginning with Cold Iron (2015) [see Checklist below].
Leicht's first novel of direct sf interest is Persephone Station (2021), a Space Opera set on a remote colony planet threatened by a rapacious intergalactic corporation called Serrao-Orlov. A Seven-Samurai group of female mercenaries [for Seven Samurai see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below] is recruited, along with a roaming AI, to save the planet. Loki's Ring (2023) is also a space opera. [JC]
