(1983- ) Mexican-born author in US and elsewhere from infancy, in US from the age of 25. Most of her work, most of which appeared initially in Spanish, has been nonfantastic; her second novel written directly in English, Beginning Middle End (2026), enters the water margins of the very Near Future through a family narrative increasingly governed by the implications of catastrophic Climate Change, as long before augured through a mosaic tile, owned by her folk, which shows the face of Proteus.
