Form of his name sometimes used by Australian-born soldier, medical doctor, politician, civil engineer and author Arthur Alfred Lynch (1861-1934), in UK and US and Ireland variously; in the UK in 1903 he was sentenced to death by hanging for his involvement on the Boer side of the Second Boer War (where he was made Colonel), but was released about a year later. His written work is very various, with one novel, Seraph Wings (1923), being of sf interest for its positive depiction of the consequences of a revolution in Near Future Britain which dissipates the government.
