(? - ) US poet and author whose first work of genre interest, a poem, was "Beware" for Dreams & Nightmares in 1987; her sf novel, Sleep (2004), is a double Dystopia set in an estranged version of Near Future America, with two twisted societies following the dictates of regionalism as to geography and burden: in The Valley, Computer-obsessed insomniacs huddle; on the mountain tops roam monk-like figures obsessed by dreams.
