(1881-1956) UK educationist and author Elliott Evans Mills, whose The Decline and Fall of the British Empire [for subtitle see Checklist] (1905 chap), published anonymously, is a future history designated for use in the National Schools of Japan in 2005 (see Ruins and Futurity). His Sleeper Awakes Satire, The Further Surprising Adventures of Lemuel Gulliver (First a Surgeon and Then Captain of Several Ships) in Topsy-Turvy Isle (1906 chap) as by Vivian Grey, is a Sequel by Another Hand in which the protagonist of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels (1726; rev 1735) awakens, after 200 years, and comes to an Island whose philistine topsy-turveydom soon reveals it to be England.
