One of Ackerman's several unsuccessful efforts to return to publishing in the vein of Famous Monsters of Filmland between the end of the original run in 1983 and its first revival in 1993, Monsters and Imagi-Movies seems intended as a companion to FJA's Monsterland, which Ackerman was editing at the time. The full title was Forrest J Ackerman's Monsters and Imagi-Movies. In a format resembling a slim trade paperback, it contained many photographs and articles on vintage Horror and sf Cinema from Ackerman's vast collection. A long essay on his favourite sf film Metropolis (1926) was heralded by a cover image of its famed female Robot. Curt Siodmak provided an introduction. [GSt/DRL]
