Old Dark House, The
Entry updated 4 April 2017. Tagged: Fan, Publication.
US letter-size saddle-stapled Cinema Fanzine printed on newsprint. Publisher and editor: George LaVoo. Two numbered issues, 1976 and 1977.
This short-lived Monster Movies magazine showed potential and is of some interest despite its swift failure. The second issue carried a lengthy cover story on The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). Had The Old Dark House survived for any length of time, it may well have become a title of some merit. Since the 1990s, LaVoo has become a film producer and screenwriter responsible for such films as Real Women Have Curves (2002), Bloodmonkey (2007) and others. [GSt]
