Reinsmith, Richard
Entry updated 28 April 2025. Tagged: Author.

Working name of US author Richard Rein Smith (1930- ), who has apparently written many sf novels under various pseudonyms, including the erotic Door of Desire (1964; vt Sex Machine undated as by Dan Elliott) as by Ann Taylor, in which the Receptor, an all-senses recording device, is used to provide pornographic playback of Sex experiences; and the sf adventure Starbright (1983) as by Damon Castle. Other work includes Gothics as by Diana Tower; further pseudonyms remain almost certainly unrevealed. As Reinsmith he wrote The Savage Stars (1981), in which, after their Spaceship crashes on an empty planet, the survivors create a roughshod civilization for themselves (see Colonization of Other Worlds); and a Tarzan Tie, Tarzan and the Tower of Diamonds (1985).
