The first of two sequels to the successful sf/horror film The Fly (1958), the other being Curse of the Fly (1965). Here the son of the scientist in The Fly, after being attacked by an evil assistant, is forced to replay his late father's tragedy, which he does rather limply; it is the least successful of the three films. Although The Fly (1986) is a remake of The Fly (1958), The Fly II is not a remake of Return of the Fly. [PN]
