(?   -    ) UK author who began to publish work of genre interest with "Wires and Blood" in Magic at Midnight (anth 2018) edited by Lyssa Chiavari and Amy McNulty. The young protagonist of her first novel, the Young Adult Orphan Planet (2025), having been born and raised in solitude on a planet tolerable to humans (see Colonization of Other Worlds; Space Opera), has gradually learned that her task on Maoira-I is to assess for her remote superiors its potential viability as a home for the space-wandering remnants of humanity (see Adam and Eve; Imperialism; Long Night). She benefits from a companion AI (see Clichés) who assists her in deciding the local fate of Homo sapiens. There is no easy answer. [JC]
