(?   -    ) UK author, editor and biographer (chiefly of actors and other media celebrities) who reviewed for Vector, wrote for Doctor Who magazine and has edited the Doctor Who-related Dreamwatch, the latter in his capacity as editor and later editor-in-chief at Titan Magazines. Book-length works of genre interest began with Pocket Essentials volumes on James Cameron and Ridley Scott: James Cameron (2002) and Ridley Scott (2002). Of particular note are a study of Philip K Dick adaptations for Cinema, Counterfeit Worlds: Philip K. Dick on Film (2006; rev vt Counterfeit Worlds: The Cinematic Universes of Philip K. Dick 2023); Timeless Adventures: How Doctor Who Conquered TV (2009; exp rev 2013; rev vt Timeless Adventures: The Unofficial Story of How Doctor Who Conquered Television 2023), dealing as indicated with Doctor Who; and an illustrated coffee-table exploration of Steampunk: Steampunk: Victorian Visionaries, Scientific Romances and Fantastic Fictions (2012; vt Steampunk: An Illustrated History of Fantastical Fiction, Fanciful Film and Other Victorian Visions 2012).
