(1982- ) US author of the ongoing Madman's Daughter sequence comprising to date The Madman's Daughter (2013) and Her Dark Curiosity (2014), a Sequel by Other Hands to H G Wells's The Island of Dr Moreau (1896), though with a paranormal romance tonality, accompanied by an intense focus upon the Young Adult heroine, Moreau's daughter. Troubled by accusations about her father's experiments, she leaves London with two romantically interesting males (one named Edward: presumably Edward Prendick from the original tale), arriving eventually at the original Island, where the plot thickens considerably. Some Monsters may still live, it turns out, and in the second volume one of them may have followed her back home. [JC]
