(1959- ) Japanese artist lauded largely for his work in Videogames, particularly in cover art and manual Illustration for Japanese releases of Wizardry: Legacy of Llylgamyn (game 1983; 1987 in Japan). Other notable commissions include several parts of the Guin Saga (see Kaoru Kurimoto), and the original Japanese magazine appearance of William Gibson's "Johnny Mnemonic" (May 1981 Omni; trans Hisashi Kuroma as "Kirokuya Johnny" November 1986 SF Magazine). He received an Art Seiun Award in 1988. [JonC]
