Sullivan, Michael J

Entry updated 20 February 2023. Tagged: Author.

(1961-    ) US author, well-known for self-published work notable for its professional production standards, as well as work increasingly published through traditional outlets, his first (self-published) release being a short story, The Viscount and the Witch (2011 ebook), which became part of the long sequence of fantasy tales under the overall title The Riyria Universe, beginning with The Crown tower (2013) [titles not listed below]. A second long fantasy series [also not listed] is the Legends of the First Empire beginning with Age of Myth (2016). Sullivan is of sf interest for Hollow World (2013), whose protagonist, fatally ill with a cancer incurable during his era, fabricates a Time Machine in which he travels a century or so into the future. Here he responds vigorously to what he likes and does not like about the Future History he is experiencing at first hand; while being cured.

Michael J Sullivan should not be confused with the UK author M J Sullivan. [JC]
