TV Sci-Fi Monthly

Entry updated 19 February 2024. Tagged: Publication.

UK tabloid-size Cinema magazine. Published by Sportscene Publishers, Limited. No editor credit in early issues; later ones list Mick Farren as editor or co-editor. Eight issues, all with copyright date 1976; month not given.

An "oversize" publication which focused on various Television programmes, TV Sci-Fi Monthly carried Interviews and articles as well as its main feature, a large fold-out poster in each issue. The television series covered were roughly evenly divided between UK and US programmes, with a slight emphasis on the latter. Space: 1999 (1975-1977) and Star Trek (1966-1969) received the most attention. Others featured were The Bionic Woman (1976-1978), Doctor Who (1963-current) and The Six Million Dollar Man (1973-1978). There were also interviews with such notables as Leonard Nimoy. Sportscene Publishers produced several other poster-type publications, often focusing on such US television series Starsky and Hutch (1975-1979). This title should not be confused with Science Fiction Monthly. [GSt/DRL]
