Entry updated 12 September 2022. Tagged: Author, House name.
A joint House Name used by the US authors Lynwood Paul Fields (1941-2003) – whose working name for other books was Peter T Scott – and Peg O'Neill Scott Fields (see the entry for her pseudonym Scott O'Neill) – who copyrighted other work under her birth name Peg O'Neill Scott – for their unauthorized Tarzan: The New Series sequence (see also Tarzan). Each worked solo, with Fields writing all but the third volume. The five series titles are Tarzan and the Silver Globe (1964), Tarzan and the Cave City (1964) – a Lost Race adventure – Tarzan and the Snake People (1964), Tarzan and the Abominable Snowman (1965) and Tarzan and the Winged Invaders (1965). Tarzan: The New Series enjoyed only a short shelf-life; the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate successfully sued the publisher, and the books were withdrawn in 1966. Peg O'Neill Scott also wrote the sf novel Martian Sexpot (1963) as by Scott O'Neill (which see). [JC/DRL/SH]
