(1980- ) UK author, whose work is almost exclusively nonfantastic, including the long Jessica Daniel crime novel sequence [not listed in Checklist below]. He is of sf interest primarily for the Young Adult Dystopian Silver Blackthorn series beginning with Reckoning (2014), set in an indefinably Near Future Britain delineated in terms that allow a fantasy reading of the whole, though at the same time hints of an underlining sf mechanism (see Medieval Futurism) give the overall tale room to breathe.
