(? - ) US author whose first novel, The History of Living Forever (2019), focuses on the dance of revelations that beset and illumine the forty-year-old protagonist Conrad's understanding of his romance as a teenager with his chemistry teacher Sam, who had been searching for a recipe, possibly alchemical, that might contain the secret of Immortality. Conrad's search for various meanings – the mystery of his lover's death, the nature of immortality as panacea and curse – is here conveyed Equipoisally, with sf tropes consorting with Supernatural Fiction [see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below]. The focus of the tale remains throughout, at times fulsomely, on relationships in their origami unfoldings. [JC]
