World of Giants

US tv series (1959; also known as W-O-G). Ziv Television Programs. Created by Dick Dorso. Produced by William Alland and Otto Lang. Various directors. Cast includes Arthur Franz, Marcia Henderson and Marshall Thompson. One season of thirteen 30-minute episodes. Black and white.
Mel Hunter (Thompson) is a Federal agent who on a past secret mission beyond the Iron Curtain became the victim of atomic radiation and suffered permanent Miniaturization to the height of six inches (15cm). The government keeps him on as a special agent, using him for assignments where his small size will be an advantage. His full-size partner on these missions, Bill Winters (Franz), carries him from one target location to another in a briefcase which has a small chair inside and, later, a door allowing Hunter to come and go freely. It has been suggested that the short-lived series was an excuse to use all the giant-sized props left over from The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), but this is not the case: in fact the studio went badly over budget by creating its own outsize props.
