WSFA Journal
Entry updated 18 June 2021. Tagged: Fan, Publication.
US club Fanzine, first series 1965-1977 edited by Don Miller; second series, following a hiatus, 1988-current under various editors. US quarto (letter-size) format. Published for the Washington SF Association based in Washington, District of Columbia.
Besides items relating to WSFA and local Fandom, the WSFA Journal contained articles of general sf interest, including in its early years a regular column by Thomas Burnett Swann. Later issues from January 1976 to the end of the first series were retitled SF&F Journal, with the first of these (which would have been #86) numbered #1, the second numbered #87 and other known issues given low numbers counting from #1; the second series was dated rather than numbered. Of particular importance were the extensive bibliographical material and reviews published in the journal and also in its companion newsletter (see Newszines), Son of the WSFA Journal, of which Don Miller published at least 130 issues. Most issues of WSFA Journal since 1974 are archived online [see links below], along with WSFS meeting minutes and other material. [PR/DRL]
