(?   -    ) UK author, editor, film critic, conference organizer, liaison manager and translator now resident in Poznań, Poland. His works of nonfiction focus on the monstrous and Gothic with particular emphasis on aspects of the Vampire (especially in Cinema), as witness his early critical studies Dracula as Absolute Other: The Troubling and Distracting Specter of Stoker's Vampire on Screen (2019) and Vampires from Another World: The Cinematic Progeny of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds and Bram Stoker's Dracula (2021) (see Bram Stoker; H G Wells).

Bacon has edited and co-edited numerous critical anthologies, often dealing with vampires or Zombies – as in Undead Memory: Vampires and Human Memory in Popular Culture (anth 2013) with Katarzyna Bronk – but including the Star Trek study To Boldly Go: Essays on Gender and Identity in the Star Trek Universe (anth 2017) with Nadine Farghaly.
