(1959- ) Canadian author, mostly of nonfantastic work for Young Adult readers, and of detective fiction, active from around 1985, much of this work being couched to advocate Christian programs for the world. His sf titles, many of which explain issues of science in terms of Religious doctrine, are also numerous, beginning with his first novel, Double Helix (1959), which provides warnings about the evils of a secret Genetic Engineering project using aborted foetuses in its experiments. His various series, the first being the Cyberquest sequence beginning with Pharaoh's Tomb (1997), also tend to work through the scrutiny through Christian eyes of various story types out of the SF Megatext; many lessons are promulgated.
