(1965- ) US illustrator and author of Graphic Novels whose Young Adult Space Opera, Grease Monkey (graph 2006), poses its young protagonist a series of practical problems as he comes to terms with his role as a low-ranking cadet mechanic drafted into humanity's fight back against the Alien assault which has decimated Earth's population. His main problems come from his need to relate to his boss on board the vast space artefact which houses the heart of Earth's response forces, as his boss is an ape (see Apes as Human), friendly aliens having supplemented Earth's human stock with other Uplifted species. The title is a pun. As illustrator alone, he collaborated with Daniel Quinn on The Man Who Grew Young (graph 2001), a complex tale involving Time in Reverse and Immortality. [JC]
