(1946- ) Australian author who began publishing work of genre interest with "The Wood for the Trees" for Chrysalis 6 (anth 1979) edited by Roy Torgeson, and who collected further sf and fantasy stories in Borderline (coll 1996); her sf is perhaps less idiomatic than her other work, though a later story like "Rain Season" (Fall 1998 Eidolon) – which focuses on the denial behaviour of an obsessed protagonist in a world gradually being overwhelmed by an ecological Disaster – is genuinely powerful.
