(1952- ) US author who began to publish work of genre interest with "Selena's Song" in Spaceships and Spells: A Collection of New Fantasy and Science-Fiction Stories (anth 1987) edited by Martin H Greenberg, Charles G Waugh and Jane Yolen. The hints of Dream Hacking in her first novel, Sunder, Eclipse & Seed (1990), are given a fantasy frame. Of more sf interest is the Elik sequence comprising Summer Light (1995) and Daughter of the Shaman (1997), which somewhat vitiates its Prehistoric SF setting with strong hints that shamanism involves Magic.
