(1969- ) US screenwriter and author, most interestingly in the latter capacity for The Thing (2011) directed by Mathijs Heijningen Jr and Arrival (2016) directed by Denis Villeneuve. His first novel is a Cyberpunk Technothriller Tie, Cyberpunk 2020: The Bonin Horse (1993 chap). He is of perhaps stronger interest for his second, Simultaneous (2025), which is set in a vividly depicted Near Future America where a division of Homeland Security attempts to apply Precognition software to the detection of terrorist crimes in the offing; the influence of Philip K Dick through the film Minority Report (2002) directed by Steven Spielberg may be surmised.
