(1939-1988) American teacher and author, in the 1970s an associate professor of biology at the Justin Morrill College of Michigan State University, where with R Glenn Wright he co-directed the Clarion Science Fiction Writers' Workshop (East). He contributed Poetry to Clarion III (anth 1973) edited by Robin Scott Wilson and to Foundation: The Review of Science Fiction (March 1975 #7/#8); his only known work of fiction is a story in Harlan Ellison's unpublished «The Last Dangerous Visions». His Darwin to Double Helix: the Biological Theme in Science Fiction (1974 chap; rev 1977 chap) is an intelligently constructed syllabus of sf about Biology, with notes and bibliography, part of the SISCON (Science in a Social Context) series.
