(1948- ) Belgian Congo-born author, in US from the age of sixteen; almost all her work consists of nonfantastic mystery series [not listed in Checklist below]. She is of sf interest for Cousins from a Distant Sun (2026), whose archaeologist protagonist discovers in Peru a race of seemingly supernatural beings, in fact descendants of a human race long previously kidnapped by Aliens until their return in Incan times (see Equipoise). Not unjustly, upon their discovery Underground they are perceived as a Lost Race. [JC]
