(?   -    ) US academic and author, mostly resident abroad and in London, of initial interest for the nonfiction The Myth of Morgan La Fey (2014) [see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below]. Her first Young Adult novel, Sweet Black Waves (2018) as by Kristina Pérez, is fantasy and opens a thus-titled series. Her second, The Tesla Legacy (2019), which is sf, carries its epileptic young protagonist, whose fascination with science places her slightly adrift from her teenage friends, into New York, where she follows instructions she does not initially understand leading to the hidden workshop where Nikola Tesla did his last work. She is soon exposed to the manipulations of a several vying groups of aspirational Secret Masters, all in pursuit of Tesla's final secret; this may enable them to control human Evolution, with possibilities of Uplift in the offing.
