(? - ) US academic – a professor in the Department of Literature and Languages at Texas A&M University – author and critic, who began to publish work of genre interest with a detailed study of Arthur C Clarke for Greenwood Press, Arthur C. Clarke: A Critical Companion (1997). This was followed by a similar examination of Ray Bradbury released by the same publisher: Ray Bradbury: A Critical Companion (2000). Reid has since edited the very substantial critical anthology Women in Science Fiction and Fantasy (anth 2009 2vols; omni 2009), with in-depth coverage of Women SF Writers by numerous contributors.
