(?   -    ) US author who began to publish work of genre interest with "Bargonns Can Swizzle" in Sybil's Garage for May 2005, assembled with other tales up to 2012 as Across the Event Horizon (coll 2013). Most of his work is sf; several of the stories focusing on issues of Identity, which tend to leak into, or iterate themselves, in terms of Alternate Worlds or Parallel Worlds. Others examine First Contact issues. Clones are several times in evidence. Throughout there is a sense that tropes initially readable as genre Clichés have been invigorated.

"Longing for Langalana" (June 2006 Interzone), which initiates the Wergen sequence of tales about an Alien race in helpless emotional bondage to Homo sapiens because we smell good to them, was followed by Freefall (2013 chap), in which – with the help of an anti-love Drug that allows a brief view of humanity as we actually are, stripped of biochemical glamour – the Wergen begin to rebel against human exploitation and de facto Slavery. Six already published Wergen tales, including "Longing for Langalana" and Freefall, are assembled with revisions and five newly written chapters as Wergen: The Alien Love War (fixup 2021). [JC]
