(1897-1935) US journalist and author, in UK from 1920; of sf interest is The Immortals (1924), in which a serum invented (see Invention) by a Russian Scientist confers Immortality upon selected recipients. But the protagonist's advocacy of his Drug is terminated after the Wandering Jew makes an appearance and describes the terrible cost of not being able to die. [JC]
