(1957- ) Canadian author whose first works were nonfantastic work for adult readers, and who is of sf interest for the Norbert Narratives sequence, beginning with The Nose from Jupiter (1998), in which an Alien named Norbert from Jupiter sets up camp in young Alan's nose, where he interferes with (and often solves) Alan's teenage problems. In Noses Are Red (2002), strange creatures are found in the woods; and in The Boy from Earth (2004), Alan accompanies Norbert back to Jupiter, where dynastic problems must be solved (Norbert is a prince). The series comes to a halt at this point. Me & Death: An Afterlife Adventure (2010) is fantasy. [JC]
