(1989- ) UK actor, nurse and author whose Young-Adult HappyHead sequence beginning with HappyHead (2023) is set in a Near-Future Dystopian UK; the young protagonists of the tale, selected on Eugenic grounds to be tested in survival games (see Games and Sports) on the Scottish island of Elmhallow (see Keep), must somehow transcend the tyrannies involved; their collaboration is warmer than that available to similar combatants in Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games sequence. In Silver's first singleton, Traumaland (2025), victims of the modern world, sometimes traumatized by literal accidents, are introduced to the eponymous venue where they enter a coercive Virtual Reality world; their experiences are then harvested.
