(1979- ) UK screenwriter and author, best known for his nonfantastic crime thriller trilogy, the Leo Demidov sequence beginning with Child 44 (2008) [series not listed below]. He is of sf interest for Cold People (2023), which takes off from the very Near Future Alien Invasion in 2023, as a consequence of which the remnants of the human race are quarantined in Antarctica. After twenty years, in three Dystopian Cities, this rump must begin to figure out the secret beneath the ice, for they were not dumped into the Antarctic out of kindness (see Clichés). [JC].
