(1974-    ) US Comics writer and author; he has written scripts for DC Comics' Swamp Thing, though much of his more recent work has been for Marvel Comics, including work derived from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Soule's first novel, The Oracle Year (2018), while focusing on its protagonist, who has been suddenly gifted with Precognitive powers, explores with some subtlety the implications of such powers in the almost infinitely interwoven webs of information that make up the imperceptibly Near Future New York in which the tale is set. Anyone (2019), set in a slightly more distant Near Future, carries a scientist via Identity Exchange into the body of her husband, who becomes her Avatar. The "flash" Technology that results is explored on lines that have become moderately familiar, though adding the argument that a huge information network iconified by feeling avatars may work around the isolatedness of a species like Homo sapiens, letting empathy in.
