(? - ) US soldier, intelligence officer and author of Greek descent, most of whose books are nonfictional or lightly fictionalized Alternate Histories with an emphasis on military matters and featuring clearly articulated Jonbar Points, beginning with Gettysburg: An Alternate History (1997), in which a number of military actions are described as having turned out differently, the speculations in this book being narrowly focused. More adventurous are Dixie Victorious: An Alternate History of the Civil War (2004) and Britannia's Fist – comprising Britannia's Fist: From Civil War to World War (2008), A Rainbow of Blood: The Union in Peril (2010) and Bayonets, Balloons & Ironclads: Britain and France Take Sides with the South (2015) – where wide-ranging speculations, not dissimilar to some ventured by Harry Turtledove in various series, are given freer play.
Tsouras's other works of the same order, written or edited have covered various more recent Wars as well: World War One in Over the Top: Alternate Histories of the First World War (coll 2014) with Spencer Jones; various aspects of World War Two, including two anthologies of Hitler Wins speculations, Hitler Triumphant: Alternate Decisions of World War II (anth 2006; vt Hitler Triumphant: Alternate Histories of World War II 2011) and Third Reich Victorious: Alternate Decisions of World War II (anth 2002; vt Third Reich Victorious: Alternate Histories of World War II 2015); and the Cold War in Cold War Hot: Alternate Decisions of the Cold War (anth 2003).
