(1962- ) Canadian environmental policy analyst and author whose Vision of Hell sequence beginning with Hotter Than Hell (2005) sustainedly argues the Near-Future consequences of Climate Change, which include an Invasion of Canada by an America looking for water; in Hell on Earth (2008) those consequences are intensified. The Battle sequence beginning with Battle for the Taiwan Strait 2033 (2023) provides a thematically linked but narratively separate set of hypothetical Near Future wars (see also Futures Studies), each taking place in a different future; Tushingham conveys no sense of joy in the devastations envisaged.
Defenceless (2021) is a Space Opera featuring an Alien civilization whose emissaries come to Earth looking for mercenaries to fight off a foe; Beyond Ageless (2021) addresses issues of Immortality; Second Awakening (2021) traces the discovery of a Forerunner artifact whose mission may terminate the human race, Uplift 40 (2022), again a Space Opera, offers an interstellar corporation the chance to Uplift a species in trouble.
