(1975- ) Canadian Games writer and author, in New Zealand from 2019, whose first series, the Anderson Dexter sequence beginning with Self Made (2010), features a private eye protagonist who must battle forces that would destroy the Virtual Reality village of Marionette City where they work and live. Like their first novel Beautiful Red (2009), The Department of What It (Really) Means to be Human (2026) is set in a vaguely utopianized (see Utopias) Near Future where, after things change, scarcity is under control, but human beings, detached from their former shaping habitus, hang loose to their detriment.
Wehm was part of the design team for A Death in Hyperspace (2024), which won a Nebula for best game writing. [JC]
